Burger King introduces Seattle’s Best as new Coffee Addition

It is really fun to watch other companies position their products and services. Burger King being the latest one.

Burger King

BK Joe will soon be history. I have to say from a branding standpoint, I thought it was pretty clever. Although the coffee itself, was not very good.  Seattle’s Best will soon be joining the Burger King lineup this summer according to today’s USA Today Article.

McDonald’s

It wasn’t that long ago that McDonald’s introduced a whole new line of coffee’s and cappuccinos to compete with Starbucks. McCafe – Name Brand Coffee’s

Subway also signed on with Seattle’s Best to offer their coffee in over 9,000 of their locations.

Local Coffee House

I think all of these places are missing the mark. The people buying the premium coffee’s are going to their local coffee house. Even Starbucks, though popular with some may not have the penetrating market that a local premium franchise may have.  These companies should try aligning with one of these companies that have a great, quality product. I will put my local, Omaha  Crane Coffee or Scooter’s Coffee against any of these places.

Do you agree? Will you be leaving your current coffee place to go to Burger King or McDonald’s. It’s really about a quality product not a brand name.  If you don’t believe me, try it for youself and have your own taste test.

Agreed! It’s about the quality not the brand name! I’m for the local guys. Use to be a BK and McDonald’s coffee fan until Brogi’s and Scooter’s came to town. Brogi’s is a small time franchise. It’s out of the way for me so once in a while I have to have a “Brogi’s day” to break up the week. I don’t believe the corporate coffees have the quality behind it that the local’s do.

I really believe it too. The Scooter’s CEO, Tom does not consider Starbucks his competitor. Tom feels Scooters stands on its own and has the highest quality coffee in Omaha.
