iPhone Craziness

iPhone 4 ReviewI heard this morning over 1.8 million (iPhone version 4) have been sold.

People waiting in line for this phone to be the first people to use it. It’s not like standing in line for a concert where the tickets run out. This phone will be around for awhile. However, this new phenomenon of being “the first” is being planted in our heads and it really says something about our culture. Movies to some extent have this appeal too to some extent, but there is a big difference between a $8- $16 ticket and a $199 – $300 item.

I have an iPhone. I purchased mine a year after they first came out.  I do not have an iPad.  I think its very cool. I am just trying to determine how it would replace a laptop or if  I am going to start typing with two fingers at some point.  My point is, I had to do some checking and I am still weighing the benefits.  Are you in this group?

Also, believe me there are still flaws when it comes to service and I would venture to say most iPhone owners use their phones for calling and texting. The applications are great and are even getting better, but bottom-line its a phone.

Mitch Albom had a great column yesterday regarding this topic.

Let me say that Apple is a genius when it comes to marketing . They are the marketing masters.  Apple has the best word-of-mouth and backs up their products with the latest technology.  All companies should try to learn more about their marketing strategy. Its very effective!

No end to the iPhone Craziness for now.

Did you buy a new iPhone? What is your biggest reason for purchasing it? I would be interested in knowing!
