Moldy corn and fungicides may well be the big topic this coming fall according to today’s Farmgate Article.
Last year this epidemic reached very high levels with the wet conditions. Mycotoxins were a hot topic around here too. Our analysis for molds: mycotoxins, vomitoxin, aflatoixin, Fumonisin, Ochratoxin uses state of the art LCMS equipment. However, we too could only run so many samples at a time due to to the amount of time it takes the instrument to analyze each sample.
As a result, a major investment was made to purchase more equipment and new process implemented to help improve the process from sample receipt, sample prep and instrument analysis. The IT and Laboratory Teams at Midwest Laboratories have been working for the past 9 months to help insure that Midwest Laboratories is in a position to provide the highest quality service with prompt turnaround time.
We take news like this very seriously and try to stay ahead of potential concerns where we can. Check out the article, and keep it as a reference along with the Midwest Laboratories information. Continue to monitor your crops.
