Everyday I receive a few pieces of direct mail. Most of the time, it is a postcard and most of the time it ends up in the circular file. I don’t get too excited about free offers or graphics. I want something of value.
I started thinking about this… and I came away with the following
Name ???
How many of you would be willing to send out your promotional item as a business card? At least I would know who the person is that is sending me this information.
Contact Information??
Options to contact you?? Do you have a name, email, phone number or web address. Its amazing to me that people spend a lot of money and just list their phone number.
Action?
What am I supposed to do with your card?? Does the information state clearly that the person is to call or sign-up or is it buried in the text.
Do you have some examples of awesome direct mail pieces? I would be interested in performing this simple audit with respect to your example. Direct Mail is only effective if it is simple and it is much different than any other piece of direct mail.
Your Input is Requested
Would really like your input on this post? I will also send a gift to the best direct mail piece. It can be your own or someone else’s.
