There are several ways to take samples: Grid, Composite or Zone
Typically you should take Samples at 0 to 6 inches below the surface of the ground.
It is recommended that you take soil samples in the fall, right after harvest. However, the most important thing to remember is consistency. You should test your soil at the same time frame each year.
