Mycotoxins in Coffee

Mycotoxins, (molds) were the hot topic last fall with the unusual wet weather and high moisture content in feed.

In 2010,sample volume continues to be high for this type of analysis at Midwest Laboratories as more and more people are trying to buy/sell a quality product.

Now we are hearing cases of mycotoxins in coffee beans and other items such as cereals and fruit. Ochratoxin A being the most prevalent in coffee beans.

Mycotoxins will continue to be a hot topic in 2010 and I would not be surprised if we hear more news regarding this topic in the next few months.
