What Professional Organizations do you belong to?
There are a number of organizations out there. However, I get tired of receiving emails that say pay this membership fee now and receive a discount. What do you get from belonging? What can you give to the group?
Have you ever asked yourself what is the ROI -Return of Investment of belonging to these particular groups. I am actively involved with only a select few groups because of time and resources.
As you begin 2010, if you are a leader or on a team of a particular organization, ask yourself a few questions:
What is my reason for belonging to this group?
Am I learning anything from belonging?
What does the organization stand for?
Do I attend meetings on a regular basis?
How could this organization be better?
Check out your ROI personally and from a company perspective. Is it worth your time/money? Is it time to start your own group?
